Green Action Resource Station

One person can make a difference – together we can all create change.

The Green Action Resource Station is one of the many ways the Natural World Museum captures your imagination about the environment. We hope you enjoyed Melting Ice / A Hot topic and that it inspired you to:

Think about the world around you and environmental issues.
Change some of your personal behaviors, and to act now to
join initiatives that protect our environment.

We hope you use this video pledge as a springboard for a "call to action" to make personal changes in your life right now that affect the environment. If you make just one change, it will make a difference.

About

The Green Action Resource Station is an interactive technology installation designed and built by U.S. artists Alec Bennett and Justin Young. The project has two interactive elements: An educational kiosk displaying imagery and information from local and international environmental organizations, and an automated video booth which asks people to contribute their insights and environmental actions with 60 second personal video pledges. Once inside the booth people are asked to reflect on some of the following questions:

What actions have you taken to help the environment?
What are your thoughts on global warming?
What did you learn from the Melting Ice / A Hot Topic exhibit?

As videos are recorded, rotating works of art from the exhibit are displayed behind the participant. Participants are emailed direct links to their videos and are sent a series of follow up emails to continue the conversation.

Some videos are chosen for public display, and as the project grows, an interactive global map will exhibit the views of people from around the world who share their green pledge. All videos are screened for eligibility. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to share what personal environmental actions you have taken since visiting the exhibit. Please email us.
